sweet lily
I recently made this little custom order dress. Brown is definitely not my colour - I don’t think I own a single brown item of clothing. By the time I finished this dress, however, I was having other ideas! I love the combination of the red and the brown. It has such a nice earthy, autumnal feel. I think I will begin the hunt for some similar fabric to make a dress of my own!
And the payment was even cuter than the actual dress! Blue wrens are my number one fave! So sweet.

if only...
I love being a vegan, and hope to be one forever. I love eating vegan and don’t really miss animal products at all. I often do, however, find myself gazing away at leather and wool goodies. I am currently wish wish wishing that these pretty shoes, this green satchel, some saltwater sandals and maybe these shoes too were all a little more animal-friendly, coz they certainly are awfully pretty!

So as usual I was a little slow on the uptake on this internet trend, but I finally got myself a pinterest! Well I signed up ages ago, but only just activated my account. I'm not quite converted yet, but I shall persist!

World Vegan Day
On Sunday, we headed on down to the World Vegan Day celebrations at the Abbotsford Convent. I had a little vegan slip-up while working last week, so I was looking forward to eating some deeelish vegan treats!
It was super hot so I was a bit excited to wear my new fave dress sans stockings.
There were even more stalls and displays than last year! I was a little disappointed that we missed out on a show bag, but we more than made up for it with all the yummies that we ate.
We started with a Funky Pie. I chose the ‘chilli-non-carne’, as I am loving all things Mexican at the moment! So good.
Then we stocked up on Mister Nice Guy cupcakes. Ahhmazing. We got the ‘French toast’ and ‘Betty White’ which we took home to share. I’m looking forward to sharing the last two with my sister tonight!
But possibly my favourite treat of all were sour worms and coke bottles! I don’t think I have had either since I was about 12, so I was particularly happy when I saw them. Yummo!
And I got some vegan dog food samples, all of which Flinnette loved! I threw them to her and she caught (almost) all of them in the air! This doggy is eating a lot of vegan food at the moment. She loves pretty much everything, so she’s easy to convert!

Strawberries!
Recently, we were given hundreds and hundreds of beautiful, organic, freshly picked strawberries. Strawberries are one of my favourite fruits and they make me so excited that warm weather is on its way!
We originally planned to make them into jam, but soon decided they were much too beautiful and chose to live off strawberries for the next week! I'm so glad we did!
My new favourite morning tea treat is strawberries on toast! Simply some buttered (well, nuttelexed) wholegrain toast, some fresh mint, a few squished strawberries and a teeny drizzle of pure maple syrup. Amaaazing.
