hey there four eyes
So last week my fears were confirmed: I am as blind as a bat. Well, not really, but I do need glasses! And not just reading glasses; all the time glasses! Here’s what I have learned about glasses:
1 - you actually need to wear glasses
Well duh of course you do. But then you have to choose your glasses. My initial browsing told me that all glasses are designed for either a. bank managers, or b. black-clad fellows who shop at Alphaville and hang about inner-city suburbs. Of course, I decided to go with the latter, as well, it’s better than the alternative. I soon realised, however, that no matter what glasses I get, I will look like a librarian... could be worse.
2 - I can seeeee
ohmygosh I can seeeee! I never even realised that I couldn’t see before. I just thought it was normal. I put my headaches down to an iron deficiency I was too scared to address and left it at that. Now I’m wandering about the place saying things like “ooh what a nice TV we have” and “oh gosh my windscreen IS dirty”.
So the moral of the story is, get yo’ eyes tested!

sick sick sick
It seems that all my bragging about excellent vegan immune systems has caught up with me. Today I found myself cooped up inside with a big ol'cold. Not good. I soon decided, however, that being sick really isn't that bad at all when you get to spend the day:
reading reading reading
hanging out in bed with lil Flinnette
taking a bubble bath!
watching a DVD or two
painting a picture of my fave boy
and watching it rain rain rain
In fact, I wish I was sick every day!

Frida Kahlo
I am heading to Mexico at the end of the year, and as my trip draws nearer, I am getting more and more interested in all things Mexican! I have loved Frida Kahlo forever, but am getting so excited about having the opportunity to visit her house and see the country which is so strongly represented in her work. I think that, like most people, I am just as interested in Frida Kahlo the person as I am with her actual work, so visiting her house, which has been preserved as a museum, should be such a treat!

North Melbourne Market
Today we popped down to the North Melbourne Market, where they were having a ‘special designer event’ for Spring. There were so many beautiful things! It made me extra nervous and excited for my own stall, which I will be holding there next month! Time to get busy busy sewing like a beetle!
I have lots of new pretties which need to go up on the etsy shop! Little Siena is in Queensland at the moment, so as soon as she gets back we’ll be taking lots of photos and updating the store.
